Images 34 exhibition and tour

This year the Images 34 exhibition and awards night, sponsored by Fuller's Honey Dew, will once again be held at the London College of Communication, Elephant and Castle, SE1 6SB on Tuesday, 7th September 2010. (Strictly by invite only)

We are currently preparing the loan agreements for selected artworks and will be sending these out by 18 June by email. Due to the limited space available this year, we have made a selection based on marks awarded in the competition and medium used in order to get the most varied and highest scoring work on display.

Images 34 tour
- we will make a selection for the touring works once we have seen the actual artworks to ensure quality and that work fits in the touring crates. The first venue is Beverly Art Gallery and they have produced a lovely poster. Please go along if you are in the area and have a look at the top 88 images. Entry free.

On display was also a showreel of 5 animations by Steve May, Mark Taplin, Andy Potts, Ginny Robertson and Greg McLeod.

On display are over 300 artworks showcasing incredible talents of illustrators who have made a significant contribution to their industry over the last year, including Daniel Pudles's dramatic editorial image Latitude, Leonard And The Mob (see left) Mind for New Statesman's Diary Section and also Nishant Choksi's Winter Roaming (below right), part of Vodafone's widespread Global airports campaign, comissioned by BBH.

Artbombers are 'bringing comedy back to the seaside' with their Seagull Pants series comissioned by Farm for Paramount Comedy Channel (below right) and Poly Bernatene's The Tickle Tree (below left), a beautifully illustrated picture book for Meadowside Children's Books.

The exhibited work has been selected by an expert panel of internationally acclaimed judges, including Margaret Hope - Children's Art Director at Random House, Stuart Outhwaithe - Art Director of Mother, Illustrator Jason Ford, Malcom Garrett - Creative Director at AIG, Choi Liu - Art Buyer M&C Saatchi, Gavin Morris - Designer at Faber & Faber and Maggie Murphy - Art Director of the Guardian Weekend Magazine.

The award winners were announced at the Awards Night on Tuesday 28th July 2009 (strictly by invite only), with guests enjoying beer from sponsors Estrella Damm. Presenting the awards is Peter Till, member of the AIG (Alliance Graphique Internationale) and patron of the AOI, whose illustrations have appeared in many well-respected newspapers and magazines worldwide, including regular contributions to The Guardian.

"I'm always impressed by the diversity of illustration and its ability to constantly re-invent itself, and this body of work stays true to that beautifully."
