Images - the best of British contemporary illustration Images is the UK's leading illustration competition, annual, awards show, and touring exhibition dedicated to showcasing the very best contemporary illustration published in the UK. Images is unique in that it is Britain's only jury-selected illustration competition, judged by a highly regarded panel of industry experts, spanning multiple categories. See Images 35's jury here. Images encourages critical debate +Since 2004, Images has featured the Critic's Award, each year chosen by a personality from the world of arts, culture and design. The Award winner is presented with a trophy and a special feature in Images. Images celebrates the best of British contemporary illustration +34 special pages profile the award winning illustrators and their work. At the awards night, winners in their categories are presented with a trophy. Their work is displayed free of charge in the annual, at the London show and nationwide tour. Images supports new talent in illustration +A special section features the work of students and recent graduates. Their courses and tutors are listed in the caption of each selected entry encouraging competition and excellence. Once again this year the award winners in this category will receive the Images New Talent Refresh! Award. Sponsored by The Coningsby Gallery worth Gold: £500, Silver: £250 and Bronze: £150. Successful student entrants will have the opportunity to show work at dandad.org /talentpool, an online showcase of the best creative talent in design, advertising and communication, presented by D&AD. All student award winners will be given a year's free, unlimited use of directory lists produced by the AOI. Images acknowledges commissioners of illustration +The caption of each published image includes the name of the commissioner, the commissioning agency or the client. Submitting commissioners, agents and colleges whose illustration projects are selected for publication will be acknowledged with their logo on a special page in the book.
