All artwork not touring with Images 32 has a final collection date of 10 October. Pictures can be picked up between 11am and 5pm - please call the office the day before on 020 7324 7222 to inform us you will be collecting your work so that we can retrieve it from storage. Please refer to your loan agreements for what happens to artwork if it is not collected.
Images 31 has now returned from it’s year long tour and all artworks are now available for collection as well.

A record amount of images were entered to Images this year, with over 1800 images and a total of almost 1400 entries, which beats any previous Images.
All entries to Images have been uploaded to an online catalogue for the jury to look at and compare. The competition is anonymous, and we ask the jury to award points based purely on technical ability, originality and how well the work fulfils the brief.
After the initial marking all judges will get together to discuss the overall winners in each section in order to determine the prestigious Gold, Silver and Bronze awards.
Selected entrants will be notified
by letter in November and we will post the names on this website and on the AOI website as well.

The deadline for picking up artworks that is not on tour has passed now.
If you haven't been in touch already, please do so immediately as we can't store the artworks indefinitely. Images 31 touring works will return soon as well and we need to clear out our storage space to accommodate the crates.
As per loan agreement, any artwork not picked up or requested to be posted back, will become the property of the AOI.

The best of British contemporary illustration featured in Images 32 is now not only available to view in the beautiful annual, but also showcased in an online catalogue.
Go here to see over 400 illustrations spread over six categories by around 240 illustrators, with short descriptions and contact details for the illustrators or their agents.
It's very easy to use and provides search and sort, and also a zoom function to see more detail.
Artwork not touring with Images 32 must be collected by Friday 26 September. Pictures can be picked up on Wednesdays and Thursdays - please call the office the day before on 020 7324 7222 to inform us you will be collecting your work so that we can retrieve it from storage.
As per the loan agreements, any artwork not collected by then will become the property of the AOI.
Last chance to see the fantastic Images 32 show at the London College of Communcation. The exhibition will be taken down from 3pm on Wednesday, 27th August. Exhibitors can pick up their work from the LCC if it is not touring until noon on Tuesday, 2nd September. Please call the office on 020 7324 7222 for more information or to let us know that you will be collecting your work so that we can put it aside.

Images 2009 now closed for submissions We received a record amount of entries this year - so: well done to everyone who managed to submit their best work before the deadline. We are now busy processing the entries before the jury selects the work they deem worthy of featuring in the next Images annual as the best of British contemporary illustration.

We have now started to distribute the brand new book from the previous competition: Images 32 - best of British contemporary illustration 2008.
All featured illustrators, the jury panel and around 4000 lucky industry professionals will receive their free copy within the next week. If you would like to buy a copy you can do so now in the AOI online shop, give the AOI a call or pop down to the exhibition at the LCC to get a special discount.

The private view for Images 32 was a big success with many people showing up to celebrate fantastic illustrations showcased throughout the LCC galleries.
The award winners were announced by renowned illustrator and AOI patron, Quentin Blake.
This year's Critic's Award was presented by writer and design critic, Alice Rawsthorn, who mentioned Images on her BBC London Robert Elms show on Wednesday, 30th July. |
