Savour the challenge of the competition, the buzz of selection, anticipate
the thrill of being published. Have something to shout about - join the big
show, tour and be seen in Images 34.
It’s never been easier to display your talent. Enter, and if selected,
take the opportunity to publish and have your work seen by 4000 of the top
commissioners in the UK and abroad. Just click on the 'submit'
button to the right and enjoy the new fully integrated entry form.

Images provides a showcase of the
most influential and innovative contemporary British illustration selected
for the Images annual and will feature around 330 works.The private view
night for Images 33 will be held at the London College of Communication
on 28th July 2009. (Strictly by invite only!)
The award winners will be announced on the night by renowned illustrator and
AOI patron, Peter Till.

1st colour proofs have been sent out to all illustrators (or agents/commissioners/tutors if they entered the work) featured in the annual, and they are looking very good. Please check your post s selected
The independent jury have made their selection and letters of acceptance have been sent out to the lucky winners. Congratulations to everyone selected! You can check if you are one of the chosen few here.
Selected entrants should receive a letter from us soon with details of how to publish in Images. Please return all material as soon as possible (no later than 7th November 2008) or get in touch if your name is on the list but you haven't received a letter by 31 October 2008. Please don't disclose yet if you are an award winner as we would like to officially announce the winners at the private view night.

Illustrators who were part of Images 31 tour or Images 32 London exhibition (except work that is on tour) please get in touch with Jareh Das, our Exhibitions and Events co-ordinator, about pickup of your framed artwork.
The best of British contemporary illustration featured in Images 32 is now not only available to view in the beautiful annual, but also showcased in an online catalogue.
Go here to see over 400 illustrations spread over six categories by around 240 illustrators, with short descriptions and contact details for the illustrators or their agents.
It's very easy to use and provides search and sort, and also a zoom function to see more detail.
Artwork not touring with Images 32 must be collected by Friday 26 September. Pictures can be picked up on Wednesdays and Thursdays - please call the office the day before on 020 7324 7222 to inform us you will be collecting your work so that we can retrieve it from storage.
As per the loan agreements, any artwork not collected by then will become the property of the AOI.
Last chance to see the fantastic Images 32 show at the London College of Communcation. The exhibition will be taken down from 3pm on Wednesday, 27th August. Exhibitors can pick up their work from the LCC if it is not touring until noon on Tuesday, 2nd September. Please call the office on 020 7324 7222 for more information or to let us know that you will be collecting your work so that we can put it aside.

Images 2009 now closed for submissions We received a record amount of entries this year - so: well done to everyone who managed to submit their best work before the deadline. We are now busy processing the entries before the jury selects the work they deem worthy of featuring in the next Images annual as the best of British contemporary illustration.

If you are a commissioner and your company's budget won't cover submissions, why not inform the illustators you commissioned so that your joint projects may still be featured.

We have uploaded a great selection of photos from the awards night on 29th July. See the proud award winners receive their awards from Quentin Blake and Alice Rawsthorn respectively, and get a feel for the show if you haven't seen it yourself yet.

We have now started to distribute the brand new book from the previous competition: Images 32 - best of British contemporary illustration 2008.
All featured illustrators, the jury panel and around 4000 lucky industry professionals will receive their free copy within the next week. If you would like to buy a copy you can do so now in the AOI online shop, give the AOI a call or pop down to the exhibition at the LCC to get a special discount.

The private view for Images 32 was a big success with many people showing up to celebrate fantastic illustrations showcased throughout the LCC galleries.
The award winners were announced by renowned illustrator and AOI patron, Quentin Blake.
This year's Critic's Award was presented by writer and design critic, Alice Rawsthorn, who mentioned Images on her BBC London Robert Elms show on Wednesday, 30th July. |
